Video!!!

I finally learned how to upload videos from my camera. this was taken a few weeks ago but i just could not resist posting it. enjoy : )

Olivia's first road trip

Last weekend we went to Norfolk for our first overnight road trip with Olivia. Both of the kids did fantastic and the car ride without any traffic took us no time at all (OK-with me driving we made it there in 3 hours flat with no stops door to door!)

Jason and I got to go out to dinner by ourselves (thank you Barbara and Wayne!) and the girls had a great time. Sydney spent the night at Nanny and Papa's and slept in a big girl bed with side rails and Olivia continues to impress us with her sleeping for 8 hour stretches. We checked out a fun bounce house, enjoyed some fun meals together and hung out and played with toys (including a new Princess dress up for our little Princess). Since this trip was such a success, Jason is already researching and talking about future travels....

more January pictures

Just wanted to share some fun photos. Olivia is such a happy baby and the smiles are just wonderful. And Sydney continues to be such a good big sister. She is so helpful and always looks out for her sister.

Olivia enjoys the bumbo seat (as does Sydney!) and is reaching for toys and more playful and interactive. We are really enjoying watching our girls grow!

Kidville fun with friends

It was a snowy week and we were so grateful to get out of the house today and go to Sydney's gym and art class. What makes it even better are the friends who join us. Olivia was a perfect angel (as usual) and tired herself out watching Sydney in gym so she slept the whole art class. Here is a cute picture of her hanging out with Charlie:

In the beginning of class the kids get to play in the buckets filled with different things and Izzy & Sydney thought it was a good idea to SIT in the tray of dried oatmeal. Gotta remember not to dress Sydney in dark clothes next week....

I am sure the waiters and waitresses dread seeing a crowd with 4 toddlers and 2 infants but all the kids were absolutely fantastic. Other than making a huge mess on the floor, the kids were so well behaved and we all got to enjoy a nice meal together.

Sydney loves hanging out with her friends (Braden, Izzy & Charlie, and Sam) and I am so grateful for their wonderful parents who have been very special friends for me and Jason. I look forward to classes, playdates and many more fun times together. We can't wait to meet Olivia's new friends arriving soon (Sam's little sister should be here by next week and Braden's little sister in a few months!).

12 weeks old!

Time sure is flying by fast and I must admit that it is a lot harder to find the time to download photos and update the blog. Sydney and Olivia are both doing great and keep me very busy. Olivia is a big show off and sleeps 8-8 1/2 hours at a stretch during the night then another 3 hours after that 4am feeding. Just a few more days until I get to torture her with the

3 month t-shirt and can't wait for the professional photos with Tonya that are scheduled in just a couple of weeks.

January pictures

Olivia and her new friends Jack & John...and check out the pictures of the little ones with their big sisters! Sydney has known Mary (John's sister) and Grace (Jack's sister) since she was just a week old. Now the 2nd generation gathered together for a fun playgroup.

Here are a couple of fun pictures of the girls:

And its always fun hanging out with Izzy and Charlie...

Look who's lifting their head up--and rolling over! It's not consistent yet but Olivia has rolled over several times and is doing very well with her head control. Time is going by way too fast...she'll be crawling before we know it!

The girls rooms

Check out Olivia's beautiful room...we went with a purple and green theme and the end result is just perfect. Kind of hard to tell from the pictures but the bedding, rug, picture frames, toy bins and window treatments from Pottery Barn Kids all coordinate.

We officially converted Sydney's bed (thanks Jay!) and Sydney has been doing just great. Our little girl is growing up. Not only has she been sleeping in her full size bed, but she is now going to preschool all by herself. The transition has been hardest on me...and I am still freaking out that she goes by herself (next week she'll go for 3 hours including lunch on Tuesdays & Thursdays). Not quite sure what Olivia and I are going to do during that time (Montgomery Mall/sleep/grocery shop!!?!)...Jason and I are very proud of Sydney who proclaimed "Mommy, I had fun today. Mommy went for coffee with friends. Mommy came back" when I picked her up after her first day. Way to go Sydney!!!

2011-off to a great start

Olivia is officially 2 months old today and we have been celebrating the beginning of 2011. Things have been a little crazier than usual as we attempted to convert Sydney's bed to full size but both Jason and I weren't ready for the actual big size of the mattress and box spring so we've had to make some adjustments. For the past couple of nights Sydney's been sleeping on her old mattress on the floor and she's been doing great. One of these days we'll get the bed situation figured out.

Olivia goes for her check up at the doctors and I am guessing she is over 9 pounds. Her head control is getting better and the smiles just melt our hearts. Lots of good things to come in the new year but we couldn't be happier with the way things have started. Best wishes to all!
