Charlottesville weekend

Spring break is here and we started it off with a special treat...a Disney Princess show in the land of the Wahoos. We drove down to Charlottesville for a quick overnight. The girls (Olivia especially) loved the Disney show with all our favorite characters. And the kids love staying in a hotel which is always an experience...good thing we unplugged the phone since it was Olivia's favorite toy.

And we love going to Bounce-N-Play for some playtime fun. The girls really enjoyed painting and Sydney is a daredevil on the slides! We wore them both out and they slept the entire ride back--ahhhh. Now we've got a quiet week at home before heading to Norfolk for Passover.

Calling all dentists!

Can you see it? Yes, there in Olivia's mouth--its a TOOTH! I can officially say that Olivia has 3 teeth-two little ones in the front have finally broken through the gums and one big molar in the back is there so after many months of waiting, you can actually see some teeth. And I bet many more are going to show up now that the first ones are here...and just in time. Next week Sydney has her next dentist appointment and i was going to have them look for Olivia's teeth but no worries now! Happy 17 months to Olivia!!!

how do photographers do it???

OK--here is my attempt at some fun springtime sisters pictures...i have always had such appreciation for professional photographers and wish i could have a special photo package to get monthly (or weekly, daily....) pictures of the kids. The girls looked so cute in their coordinating outfits and I tried to get some pictures but of course the timing wasn't great and couldn't find the right spot...but I just love these pictures and had to share.

Olivia is the master of facial expressions...she still doesn't have any teeth (!) and some of the looks that she gives just make me laugh. I really do wish I knew what was going through her mind!!! And getting Sydney to look at the camera, not tilt her head, and smile just doesn't happen....but the 2 girls are just too cute for words.

Happy Birthday to Jason and other celebrations

Birthdays are always so much fun and we want to wish Jason a very happy 38th birthday! We've been doing lots of celebrating including dinners, cakes and presents. Jason even took the girls out to dinner by himself on his birthday while I supported my sisters charity event. And more to come...

We were so excited that Sally, Scott, Izzy and Charlie came to visit--I completely forgot to get pictures of me and Sally and barely took any of the kids but had to share these few...Sydney and Izzy played together so nicely and we all enjoyed their visit--and I can not wait for our girls weekend next month when Sydney and I go by ourselves to Atlanta!

And how cute is this picture of Sydney and her favorite dog Floppy (dressed up as Cinderella!)

parties, princesses and play

I love the innocence of childhood...both girls were mesmerized by the magician at a birthday party over the weekend. Sometimes it is the simple things that get the most attention. Sydney especially loves her magic wand and believes it helps make things that have been lost reappear (in other words--mommy cleaned out under the sofa).

We have started introducing more and more games--something both mommy and daddy love. Olivia especially likes Connect Four although it'll be a few years before we have a real game competition. And on Sunday we attended another Purim Carnival where the girls got to dress up again--as Princesses (what else?!) in different princess gear. The girls loved the games and Olivia was a natural (yup--she cheated but she is so cute she got away with it).

Purim Carnival at school

While I've been busy stuffing my face with Hamentashen cookies, Sydney and Olivia have been enjoying some Purim festivities at school. Sydney was SOOO excited to get to dress up like a Princess at school (yes, she wears a princess dress EVERY day at home but I actually let her out of the house in it to go to school). Olivia also had a great time--she especially enjoyed hanging out with her friend Rachel. They both enjoyed the carnival games and the moon bounce.
