Harry Potter at Universal Studios!

After months and months thinking and talking about Harry Potter at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, I finally made my way over there (yes, I actually left Disney). I had not been to Universal Studios in years and not much there has changed...the park seemed very run down and in need of a good paint job and updating. I managed to go on most of the rides and spend a considerable amount of time in the Wizardly part of the theme park.
The Forbidden Journey ride was AMAZING and definitely the highlight of my time here. Couldn't take any pictures since my camera was locked up but i managed to snap a whole bunch of the shops and sights around this area including Hogwarts and Hogsmeade...sooooo cool. And I loved the butterbeer : ) Got a ton of Disney pictures to go through but just wanted to share these to start with as the pictures are being downloaded.

January party fun and indoor play

We all had a great time at a friends birthday party--Sydney and her good friend Sienna from her class especially loved dancing, jumping, and goofing around at the kidville party.
























Here's Olivia just hanging out and having fun in the basement. She is so quick moving I just can't capture her smiling and actually looking at the camera. Gotta work on that. She loved dancing with the Mickey car-got a great video of that! And I love this one of Sydney--she is dressing up each of her mini Snow White dolls with jewelry. She is all girl!

New Year, New Beginnings, New Fun!

Sydney was Shabbat Girl at school this week and we had a special guest-Poppie! It is always fun to see what is going on in Sydney's classroom. Their class breakout curriculum is "travel" and there are many different activities the teachers create to make learning new and interesting. I especially love the travel itinerary that the kids created--most went from home, school, grandparents house. But check out Sydney's itinerary--Disney World! Boy, Jason and I have sure done a good job training her!!!

























Dress up continues to be a daily occurrence at our house and I'm trying to capture the creative play that goes on. Never a dull moment with these two girls! Olivia took her first independent steps on Christmas and has continued to do just a few steps on her own but keeps a death grip around my fingers. But she manages to get herself around (and all the way up the steps) on her own. We are in trouble with this little cutie...

more Hanukkah and end of year 2011

The holidays somehow came and went and we all survived winter break...it was a busy couple of weeks and thankfully both girls are recovered from colds and sniffles that made the month of December pretty memorable and kept Kleenex tissues in business. But we had lots of fun celebrating Hanukkah--check out these fun pictures of Dr. Sydney-aka Dr. Strawberry Shortcake and some of the gifts the girls enjoyed including lots of Princess, dress up, my little pony, etc...oh, and Jason's new pillowpet.

OK--so i am a little late at getting these posted. Somehow the time keeps getting away from me and i was so busy making photo books and calendars that I had forgotten to update the blog. But I had to share the photos from our last session with Tonya as part of the newborn series. So here they are--and I will attempt to get some recent pictures up soon as the kids keep changing and growing up way too fast...
