L'Shana Tova

This was my first Rosh Hashana--the Jewish new year. I want to wish everyone a new year filled with joy and happiness. I wasn't around last year but my parents said that last year was the best year ever and it just keeps getting better and better so I'm looking forward to lots of fun things ahead with my family and friends.

It took me quite awhile but I am finally picking up food and putting it in my mouth. Mommy thought she was going to have to feed me until i was 12...but one day I decided to do it myself. Still don't have any teeth but I'm having fun playing and eating all these new foods.

Been doing all sorts of fun things this week including a new music and gym class, shopping with my cousins, playgroups, etc. Mom and dad are busy packing up boxes for my new house. Lots of things happening over the next few weeks... we are settling on our town house next week and on our new place the middle of October. This move is keeping all of us busy!

Sydney goes shopping

Sydney loves playing with her little grocery cart and looks so adorable using it. Watch out--she already knows how to use the credit card and wants to go shopping with Daddy!!!

don't be sad grandpa & poppie

Mommy says she is sorry for posting those pictures of me crying. I don't cry too often so she thought those pictures were hilarious and she says I am a drama queen sometimes. But my Grandpa and Poppie especially don't like to see me upset.

So no worries...I am a happy little girl who may or may not be getting teeth who sometimes does not want to take a nap even though my parents say I have to and I probably won't like to eat my vegetables when I am older just like my daddy and I most definitely will want to do things my way...so I might just cry sometimes because I can : ) (and it helps me get what I want!!!)

Love,
Silly Sydney

Happy Birthday!!! To mommy : ) & 11 months for Sydney

Today is September 14th and I am 11 months old! Oh yeah, and its my mommy's birthday. I've been very busy today and mommy wanted to share a couple of fun photos. She loved the one of me crying...guess she wanted all of you to know I do cry sometimes...not often but mommy thinks my teeth might be coming in (whatever those are...). I'm getting so big and seem to be getting into all kinds of trouble. When daddy and mommy aren't looking I like to crawl up the stairs. I'm getting pretty fast...

What do you mean I have to wait another month for cupcakes??? Maybe that's why I'm crying in this picture? Either that or I didn't want to take a nap which I finally did. Anyways, Aunt Beth made cupcakes today which was so nice. I can't wait until October 14th for MY 1st birthday. That's coming up SOON!

Guess where we went to dinner to celebrate?? hmmmm....must be the Cheesecake Factory--mommy's favorite! Only 1 more month until MY big day!!!

In other Martin family news........we sold our townhouse (while we were on our cruise) and have been VERY busy looking for a new place to live. My parents have dragged me around to over 2 dozen new houses and we hope to have some news real soon. So keep your fingers crossed and we'll let you know!

Sucker for photos

We had such a fantastic time on the Freedom of the Seas! One of mommy's (and grandpa!) favorite activities was taking pictures of me. So we also took advantage of the photographers on board and got some nice pictures taken.

Freedom of the Seas

Check out our ship! It was so big my mom couldn't even get a good picture of it! But even though there were over 6,000 people including staff on board (55 under the age of 3) it did not feel that big. There was so much to do, so much to eat, and so much fun to have. It was a great week and I especially enjoyed my time with Nanny & Grandpa! The cruise staff was especially great to me and they paid a lot of attention to me wherever I went. Boy was I popular on the ship! Here are just a couple of fun pictures:

We had great weather the whole vacation--including lots of swim time. Check out the really cool H2O zone for kids. I love the water and had a great time playing in the pool.

Freedom of the Seas has some great programming for babies like me. I attended playgroups with some new fun toys and made new friends. Plus at night they had a Bedtime Stories program just for me, too! More pictures of me playing and having fun to come.....

Disney!!!

I love Disney World! Here we are at Downtown Disney in front of the Lego store. My parents thought this picture of the Sydney Harbor was neat : )
My daddy's singing makes me laugh and I wanted him to try out for the American Idol show at Disney's Hollywood Studios. No such luck...but we did enjoy watching the show. Yup, my dad and mom sure are cheesy!

Disney's Hollywood Studios was our adventure theme park for this trip. Since it is my 2nd time to Disney World we wanted to check out something different from last time. And it was too hot for mommy to torture me with a million pictures with my friends Mickey, Minnie and gang. So instead we met these characters (not quite sure who they are?!?!), watched a few shows like Beauty & the Beast + Little Mermaid which I LOVED, and rode a few rides like the new Toy Story. Mommy says I can go on Tower of Terror and Rock-n-RollerCoaster with her when I'm older.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge was just the coolest hotel ever. We got to see a lot of animals and eat some great food. Plus swimming in the pool is always fun! This was a great way to start our vacation and next up: Caribbean Cruise!
